The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board today, 10th March, 2022, received the Executives of the Association of Primary School Headteachers of Nigeria, Lagos Chapter. The delegation were received at the LASUBEB Board room by the Executive Chairman and Board Secretary. Comrade. Edun Olukayode, Chairman AOPHSON who led other members, commended the Board on its huge investment in education and the attendant welfare and wellbeing of public primary school teachers. He laid a prayer for the upward review of running costs used in maintaining the schools, adding that the current allocation is grossly inadequate to meet the upkeep demands of the learning environment. The Executive Chairman LASUBEB, Hon. Wahab Alawiye-King thanked the delegation for their efforts at imparting our pupils and seeing to the day-to-day affairs of schools. He noted that the upward review of the running cost is imminent. He stated that the members and management of the Board recently met with the Executives of Conference 57 to seek their support towards the upward review of fees paid to schools at the grassroots. He added that the Board is frantically taking steps and engaging stakeholders to ensure that the review is actualized in the shortest possible time.
